Primary Purpose:

To provide effective leadership that will ensure a positive learning environment and will stress the importance of academic achievement. Demonstrate a high degree of ethics, professionalism, and be a positive role model for all student-athletes.

 

Job Category: Non-Exempt

Hiring Range:  Commensurate with experience

Pay Basis:  Hourly

Essential Job Functions: 

1.Comply with the rules and regulations of the FHSAA
2.Communicate to all participants the policies of the team and athletic department.
3.Submit forms as required by the FHSAA; i.e., eligibility rosters, players' information etc.
4.Be responsible for following the established procedures for communicating with parents/guardians.
5.Plan, organize, and implement the teaching of fundamentals, strategies, rules, and proper conditioning in the assigned sport.
6.Provide an atmosphere conducive to good sportsmanship; compile and maintain accurate individual and team performance records; participate in the awards
program(s) according to school procedure.
7.Ensure that adequate supervision is provided for all students involved in the program; provide for the safety of participants by inspecting facilities and equipment and being aware of environmental conditions.
8.Varsity and Junior Varsity coaches are responsible for scheduling games.
9.Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Required Experience: 1. Expertise in the assigned sport.
2. At least one year of coaching experience in the assigned sport.
