Essential Job Functions: | 1. Promptly investigates campus thefts, personal injuries, and accidents to ensure a safe environment. 2. Prepares accurate follow-up files and final investigative reports to ensure proper documentation. 3. Works with internal and external contacts to develop leads and information in cases to ensure investigations are conducted thoroughly. 4. Investigates campus incidents and crimes to ensure a safe environment. 5. Audits policies and procedures, makes recommendations on potential liabilities and loss prevention to ensure security and safety improvements are made. 6. Observes and reports on any incident, condition, or situation that could negatively affect the NSU Community, Represents NSU in court cases as a witness to incident investigation. 7. Works with the NSU community in crime prevention activities. 8. Performs other duties as assigned, |

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: | 1. Strong written and verbal communication skills 2. Strong administration skills - organized, thorough, systems orientated with meticulous attention to detail. 3. Basic computer literacy Proficient knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook; data entry skills; Internet research abilities. 4. Ability to enter and verify information with accuracy. 5. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. 6. Ability to maintain confidential information. 7. Conflict management skills. 8. Ability to multitask. 9. Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in stressful situations. 10. Self-motivation and a strong attention to detail. 11. May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of bending, sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties. 2. May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, to include but not limited to pens, pencils and computer keyboards. |

Required Certifications/Licensures: | 1. Have or Obtain Current and Valid Florida Driver’s License with no more than 3 points. 2. Have or obtain Florida "D" Security Officer License. |
Required Education: | High School Diploma or Equivalent |
Major (if required): | |
Required Experience: | Two (2) years of security, police, or military experience. |
Preferred Qualifications: | 1. Previous NSU employment experience. 2. Bachelor’s Degree. |
