Job Title: Camp Nova School Nurse-Temporary
Location: Fort Lauderdale-Davie, Florida

Essential Job Functions: Camp Nurse will provide medical care to campers and also have a variety of other duties: maintaining a clean clinic, assisting the camp directors, ordering supplies and medications, maintaining medical logs, keeping track of campers after visits, observing campers to ensure optimum health and safety levels.

1. Provides immediate medical evaluation of campers first aide needs.

2. Provides first aid care appropriate to the immediate camper or staff needs or referring care to parents. If necessary, referring the situation to emergency medical services.

3. Provides follow-up care to campers and staff.

4. Initiates communication with campers, staff, and parents as it relates to health issues, COVID related symptoms and camper injury.

5. Provides referral to parents and doctors for required medical information/care.

6. Maintains appropriate daily camper logs, passes, records, attendance, and accident reports.

7. Maintains the orderly operation of the clinic.

8. Administers medications as prescribed by physician and approved by parent, when accompanied by a completed Medical Authorization Form(s).

9. Establishes and articulates in writing on-going procedures systems and operational plans as they relate to the health and safety issues and needs (i.e. head lice) and follow daily.

10. Establishes and maintains confidentiality of all camper, staff, and school health issues.

11. Required go on off-campus field trips with campers and staff when appropriate.

12. Performs other duties as assigned.
Marginal Job Functions: 1. Maintain work area in a neat and orderly fashion.

2. Orders clinic supplies as needed, with approval from Director.

3. Provides health resource information to the staff as requested.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledgeable of school health programs.
Job Requirements: Must be able to work the entire Summer: May 30- August 4, 2023
Required Certifications/Licensures: 1. Certified LPN.

2. Current CPR certification.
Required Education: Nursing degree
Major (if required):  
Required Experience: Two (2) years of medical care experience.
Preferred Qualifications: 1. Previous medical experience in a school or clinic environment.

2. Experience working with children.
