Primary Purpose:

The faculty member is responsible for teaching and providing clinical supervision in the doctoral clinical psychology programs.
Faculty rank is commensurate with experience and credentials.

Essential Job Functions: 

Teaching
1. Provides high quality instruction in field of expertise, ensuring students meet course outcomes.
2. Plans, evaluates, and revises curricula, course content, course materials, and methods of instruction.
3. Selects and obtains materials and supplies, such as textbooks and laboratory equipment.
6. Identifies specialized materials for outside reading assignments.
7. Initiates, facilitates, and moderates classroom discussions.
8. Assists students who need extra help with their coursework outside of class.
9. Maintains student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
10. Evaluates and grades students' class work, clinic work, assignments, and/or papers.
11. Compiles, administers, and grades examinations, or assigns this work to others.
12. Maintains regularly scheduled office hours to advise and assist students.
13. Advises students on academic and vocational curricula and on career issues.
14. Acts as advisor to student organizations, ensuring adherence to college and university policies and procedures.

Clinical Instruction
15. Assesses clinical education needs and patient and client teaching needs using a variety of methods.
16. Demonstrates patient care in clinical units.

Service & Professional Development
17. Participates in campus and community events, such as giving presentations to the public.
18. Actively identifies opportunities and provides service relating to fields of expertise for the benefit of internal and external communities.
19. Provides professional consulting services to government or industry.

Other Assigned Duties
20. Collaborates with staff and colleagues to address teaching and research issues, and to improve students' learning experiences.
21. Serves on academic or administrative committees that deal with institutional policies, departmental matters, and academic issues.
22. Mentors junior and adjunct faculty members.
23. Keeps abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.
24. Performs other duties as assigned by Dean, Department Chair or Designee.



Job Requirements: 

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 

Required Certifications/Licensures: Licensed or licensed eligible in the State of Florida.

Required Education: Doctoral Degree

Major (if required: Clinical, counseling psychology or related field

Required Experience: 1. University teaching experience
2. Clinical/scholarly expertise in clinical psychology

Preferred Qualifications: 

1. Five (5) years teaching graduate level courses in psychology or related field.
2. Supervision experience.
