Primary Purpose:

Provide patient care in the North Miami Beach Clinic.

Essential Job Functions: 

1. Teaches College of Osteopathic Medicine course(s) in the classroom or in small group discussion or laboratory if needed.
2. Participates in ambulatory and hospital patient care and on call schedule.
3. Provides consultative services to college outpatient clinics.
4. Provides and maintains a reliable schedule of office hours for student advising, tutoring, remediation and consultation.
5. Participates in department and college wide committee meetings.
6. Engages in curriculum development related to current and new courses.
7. Maintains a personal professional development plan, which may include research or other creative activities to assure growth and currently within the field of Family Medicine.
8. Displays professional behavior and ethics in all aspects of job performance.
9. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Job Requirements: 

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge:
1. Medicine - Comprehensive knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventative health-care measures.
2. Education and Training - Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
3. English Language - Thorough knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
4. Customer and Personal Service - General knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of user satisfaction.

Physical Requirements:

Required Certifications/Licensures: 

Required Education: Doctoral Degree

Major (if required: 

Required Experience: 1. Terminal Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or Medical Doctor with board certification in appropriate area of specialization within three (3) years of date of hire.
2. Four (4) to six (6) years of related experience and/or training, including research; or equivalent combination of educational and clinical experience.
