Visiting Assistant Professor of Chemistry South Hadley, MA
The Department of Chemistry at Mount Holyoke College invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor beginning July 1, 2024 for a two-year appointment. The successful applicant will teach lecture and laboratory sections of core courses in General Chemistry and Chemical Measurement & Analysis. The opportunity to teach an upper-level course in the applicant’s area of expertise may be possible. Excellent facilities for research are available, including a dedicated research laboratory and access to a rich array of instrumentation. The opportunity also exists, at the candidate’s discretion, to establish student research collaborations. The successful applicant will have a broad background in chemistry and possess strong teaching, writing, and interpersonal skills. We seek an artist and scholar with expertise in dance practices not traditionally linked to western concert dance. Their practices will, by contrast or complement, augment the study of dance that reflects Eurocentric traditions and American street dance from an Africanist aesthetic - providing an additional perspective for understanding both. We seek a colleague who will bring multi-modal inquiry into the issues of our time, focusing on cultural context, inclusive pedagogy, and practice as research.
