North Idaho College is looking for an Assistant Professor - Reference and Instruction Librarian to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering library instruction to students of all backgrounds, providing one-on-one research consultations, and leading library orientation and workshops. You’ll teach both in-person and online, shaping the information literacy program in alignment with national standards.
As part of our library team, you’ll also manage a portion of the library’s collection, collaborate with faculty on resource selection, and contribute to strategic planning for the library’s development. You’ll work closely with the Division Chair to maintain a thriving instruction program, while training and supervising part-time staff at the Information Desk. Your expertise will also guide the creation of helpful research guides and tutorials.

Minimum Qualifications
Masters of Library Science / Masters of Library and Information Science or equivalent degree from an ALA accredited institution required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Demonstrated knowledge of current web technologies
• Ability to employ instructional technologies in a library setting, including online tutorials, development of LibGuides, distance learning technologies (eg. Canvas, Zoom), etc.
• Ability to provide engaging and high-quality reference and instructional services Expertise in teaching the use of unified discovery tools, online databases, link resolvers, interlibrary loan, internet resources, library management systems, etc.
• Proficient skills in project management, multi-tasking, and attention to detail
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, including an effective and engaging teaching style
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient skills using Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge of and ability to use specialized applications related to the needs of the department
• Ability to operate standard office equipment
Starting pay range: $56,781 - $78,808

Work Schedule: This tenure-track position has partial summers off with pay and benefits over 12 months!
