As a Family Advocate, you’ll be a vital part of our team - conducting home visits, facilitating parent engagement, and supporting families as they set and achieve personal goals. You’ll assist with recruitment and enrollment, conduct screenings, connect families to resources, and help build strong school-to-home partnerships. Your work will include supporting classroom teams, facilitating parent meetings, and maintaining accurate documentation. This role also involves participating in team meetings, mentoring others, and contributing to a positive, collaborative center environment.
We’re looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with individuals from all backgrounds. You should bring a positive approach to early childhood development, a strong sense of ethics and confidentiality, and a commitment to representing Head Start with professionalism. Solid communication, organizational skills, and computer proficiency are essential. Knowledge of family development, social work ethics, and child development theories will help you succeed in this role.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
Level I: Associates degree in Social Services.
Level II: Bachelor’s degree in Social Services.
Experience
Experience as a staff or volunteer in a preschool classroom
Required License and/or Certifications:
• Register with Idaho STARS and participate in the professional development system.
• Meet all training and certification requirements for childcare licensing and Head Start Program Performance Standards.
• Maintain current Infant/child & Adult CPR and First Aid.
• Meet terms of Statement of Agreement/ Employment Declaration.
• Pass an enhanced criminal background check including fingerprinting, as required by Head Start Program Performance Standards and Child Care Licensing requirements, prior to first day of work.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background check and proof of degree if required for this position.
