North Idaho College Head Start is seeking a Part-Time Facility Technician for our Sandpoint location. Under general supervision, this role helps ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for children, families, and staff.
As a Facility Technician, you will be responsible for all janitorial duties outlined in the center’s janitorial schedule. You’ll work with the Center Assistant and Supervisor to complete facility maintenance, implement strategic plan tasks, and address needed repairs. Daily work includes maintaining both the interior and exterior of the building, such as sweeping, window cleaning, landscaping, and gutter clearing. You’ll also operate equipment such as snow blowers, mowers, and hand tools, and support event set-up, storage organization, and general upkeep.
The ideal candidate can read and follow oral and written instructions, operate required equipment, and consistently follow established procedures. We're looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills who demonstrates professional ethics and confidentiality, and who interacts respectfully with people from all backgrounds. You should be able to represent the Head Start program positively and professionally in all settings.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and One (1) year of custodial/maintenance experience
Required License and/or Certifications:
• Maintain current Infant/Child & Adult CPR and First Aid.
• Pass an enhanced criminal background check including fingerprinting, as required by Head Start Program Performance Standards and Child Care Licensing requirements, prior to first day of work
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background check and proof of degree if required for this position.
