We are hiring two Assistant Professors of Practical Nursing to join a dynamic, student-focused Practical Nursing Program committed to preparing skilled, compassionate nurses for today’s healthcare environments. In this role, you will teach and support students through a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on laboratory experiences, and supervised clinical practice. Faculty maintain an active on-campus presence during instructional weeks, balancing teaching responsibilities with advising, preparation, student support, and meaningful college service.
Beyond teaching, you will serve as an academic advisor, helping students navigate program requirements, course sequencing, and strategies for academic and professional success. You will design and deliver courses using engaging, cost-conscious learning resources and a variety of instructional formats, including in-person, hybrid, and online modalities. This role also involves assessing student learning, submitting grades and required documentation accurately and on time, and contributing to curriculum development, program review, and ongoing evaluation to ensure program quality and relevance.
We are seeking nursing professionals with a bachelor’s degree in nursing, recent clinical experience, and the ability to connect with and support students from all backgrounds. Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in nursing.
• Recent clinical experience required (within the last three years).
• Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of students, faculty, and staff from multi-cultural backgrounds.
Required License and/or Certifications
• Must possess or be able to obtain an unencumbered Idaho Multi-State Nursing License or Washington Multi-State Nursing License.
• Must possess or be able to obtain an Idaho State Professional-Technical teaching certificate.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and proof of liability insurance.
North Idaho College does not have a vaccine requirement. However, many of our nursing and health professions, are subject to federal or local hospital vaccine requirements.
Starting pay range: $64,165 - $103,041

Work Schedule: These tenure track position have summers off, with pay and benefits spread over 12 months!
