North Idaho College is seeking an Assistant Professor of Medical Laboratory Technology who is excited to share their expertise, mentor future lab professionals, and play an active role in a hands-on, student-centered MLT Program. Your work will span the classroom, lab, clinical sites, and online spaces, with a consistent on-campus presence that keeps you connected to students and the life of the program. You’ll guide students through real-world laboratory skills, supervise clinical and lab experiences, and ensure labs are fully prepared, safe, and compliant with industry and accreditation standards.
You will play a key role in guiding students through program requirements, course selection, and progression while supporting their academic and professional success. Faculty develop and deliver engaging courses using cost-conscious learning resources, prepare syllabi and electronic course content, assess student learning outcomes, and contribute to curriculum development, program review, and accreditation-related activities. You’ll collaborate closely with the Program Director on accreditation goals, support distance students by ensuring equivalent lab experiences, and participate in interprofessional learning with other Health Professions and Nursing programs, including simulation-based activities.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field required
• Minimum of three years full-time equivalent experience in a clinical laboratory or a closely related field
Required License and/or Certifications:
• Must hold a current ASCP-BOC or AMT generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT)
• Possess or be eligible to receive an Idaho post-secondary Career Technical Education (CTE) certificate.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
North Idaho College does not have a vaccine requirement. However, many of our nursing and health professions, are subject to federal or local hospital vaccine requirements.
Starting pay range: $64,165 - $103,041

Work Schedule: This tenure track position has summers off, with pay and benefits spread over 12 months!
