The Position:
This position provides an opportunity for an experienced radiography educator or clinical education leader to guide a well-established, JRCERT-accredited program, supported by institutional leadership, established clinical partnerships, and an engaged advisory committee. The Program Director plays a key leadership role in ensuring program quality, accreditation compliance, and continuous improvement while mentoring students and faculty and supporting the next generation of radiologic technologists. This is a 12-month, full-time appointment.
Instructional responsibilities are intentionally balanced with administrative and accreditation duties to ensure adequate time and support for program leadership and to continually meet JRCERT accreditation requirements.

The Program Director is directly responsible and accountable for ensuring program quality, compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements, and alignment with institutional mission and workforce needs. Instructional responsibilities are assigned in accordance with the Program Director's administrative scope of work. This position provides instruction, clinical and laboratory supervision, academic advising, student support, and overall program leadership and administration. The Radiography Technology Program is accredited through the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
Program Director Responsibilities
- Maintains compliance with all requirements of the accrediting agency (JRCERT) and other applicable regulatory bodies. Ensures ongoing quality assurance and program integrity.
- Prepares for and coordinates on-site accreditation reviews.
- Completes and submits all required accreditation reports by designated deadlines.
- Participates in the development, management, and oversight of the program budget.
- Recruits and maintains clinical education sites; coordinates clinical agreements; and ensures compliance with accreditation standards, institutional policies, and state and federal regulations.
- Works with the clinical placement coordinator to oversee student background checks and clinical site onboarding requirements.
- Organizes and facilitates advisory committee meetings at least twice annually, ensuring stakeholder input and program accountability.
- Provides leadership in managing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the Radiography Technology curriculum and program. Coordinates annual core curriculum evaluations and assessment of institutional effectiveness; prepares and submits related reports.
- Oversees laboratory instruction related to clinical skills, procedures, assignments, and evaluation of student performance.
- Assesses the professional development needs of program faculty and provides support and recommendations for ongoing growth and training; assists and encourages full-time and adjunct faculty with their professional development.
- Reviews the college catalog annually to ensure accuracy of program curricula and submits recommendations for updates or changes as needed.
- Participates in student recruitment and outreach events, including information sessions. Conducts an application process that aligns with accrediting agency and advisory committee standards.
- Identifies and recommends adjunct faculty candidates for the program to the Director of Health Professions and/or Dean of Instruction – Health Professions and Nursing; verifies that faculty credentials meet JRCERT requirements.
- Adheres to all state and federal laws, institutional policies, and professional standards related to professional duties and responsibilities.
- Plans and implements programs to meet the continuing education needs of contributing community radiography technologists.
Teaching Duties and Responsibilities
- Teaches courses in the Radiography Technology curriculum as assigned. Instructional responsibilities are secondary to the administrative and accreditation responsibilities of the Program Director role and are assigned to ensure adequate time and availability to fulfill JRCERT requirements.
- Instructional load is assigned in consideration of the administrative scope and accreditation responsibilities of the Program Director role and may vary by semester to ensure ongoing compliance with JRCERT standards and institutional needs.
- Utilizes a variety of instructional delivery methods, including traditional, hybrid, online, and interactive technologies.
- Selects appropriate, cost-conscious learning resources; prepares syllabi and instructional materials for each assigned course; and maintains current course content in accordance with college policies.
- Evaluates student learning outcomes as outlined in course syllabi and submits grades and required academic documentation in accordance with college procedures and timelines.
- Provides academic advising to students in accordance with established college advising procedures and program requirements.
- Maintains current proficiency in instructional technologies, software, and clinical or laboratory equipment necessary for teaching and advising responsibilities.
- Participates in faculty meetings, division meetings, and college committees, as appropriate.
- Engages in ongoing professional development related to instructional effectiveness, Radiography Technology education, accreditation expectations, and program needs.
- Builds and maintains positive relationships with community agencies, service providers, and educational partners to support program goals and community engagement.
- Maintains a positive, collegial, and professional attitude in interactions with supervisors, colleagues, students, and community members.
- Demonstrates a commitment to the philosophy and mission of a comprehensive community college.
- May teach evening and/or weekend courses as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Master’s degree.
- Minimum of three years of full-time equivalent clinical experience as a radiography technologist.
- Minimum of two years of full-time equivalent teaching experience in a JRCERT-accredited radiography technology program.
- Graduate of a radiography technology program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, assessment, and accreditation-related activities preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Must hold current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and registration, or equivalent, in radiography.
- CPR/BLS for Healthcare Providers certification (AHA) within 90 days of hire.
- Eligible to receive an Idaho post-secondary Career Technical Education (CTE) certificate.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in curriculum design and evaluation.
- Organization and leadership skills sufficient for effective program administration.
- Strong ability to design and deliver engaging instruction and presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to adjust communication style and coaching methods to meet various learning styles of students.
- Proficient in the use of personal computers and current software applications, including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Internet, and alternative instructional delivery systems (e.g., online and interactive video).
- Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, advisory committees, and community partners with various backgrounds.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment, including phone and copier.
