Play a vital role in supporting student success and retention as an Assistant Professor - Cardinal Learning Commons (CLC). This unique faculty position combines teaching with academic coaching, allowing you to make a meaningful impact both in and beyond the classroom.
In this role, you will teach courses designed to support student success, such as first-year experience, study skills, and career exploration, using a variety of delivery methods including online and interactive platforms. You’ll develop engaging course materials, assess student learning, and contribute to curriculum development and college initiatives. In addition, you will serve as an academic coach for a caseload of students, helping them identify strengths, overcome barriers, and build effective academic habits. Through regular communication, workshops, and referrals to campus resources, you will guide students in developing skills such as time management, study strategies, and personal accountability.
We’re looking for an educator and coach who communicates clearly and effectively, adapts approaches to meet a range of learning styles, and builds supportive relationships with students, faculty, and staff. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong problem-solving and presentation skills, proficiency with instructional and student support technologies, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities. Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree required. A minimum of one year full time equivalent college teaching experience is required. Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of students, faculty, and staff from multi-cultural backgrounds.
Starting pay range: $58,485 - $81,172
This position is 111% FTE
