Join a dynamic, student-centered Biology department where teaching and mentorship make a lasting impact. As an Assistant Professor of Biology, you’ll engage students across general biology, human biology, botany, and ecology - delivering both lecture and hands-on lab experiences that bring science to life.
In this role, you’ll teach a full course load each semester, develop engaging course materials, and design meaningful assignments that support student learning. You’ll incorporate innovative and alternative delivery methods, including online instruction, while ensuring course content is accessible and aligned with departmental standards. You’ll evaluate student progress, provide timely and constructive feedback, and support student success through advising and mentorship. Laboratory instruction is a key component, including the safe use of equipment, preparation of demonstrations, and collaboration with lead instructors.
Beyond the classroom, you’ll contribute to curriculum development, student recruitment, and program assessment efforts. You’ll participate in faculty collaboration, mentor adjunct and dual credit instructors as needed, and engage in professional development to stay current in both biology and teaching practices. Building strong relationships with students, colleagues, and community partners is central to this role.
We’re looking for an engaging educator who brings energy to the classroom and can adapt teaching strategies to support a diverse student population. Strong communication skills, comfort with instructional technology, and the ability to lead both lecture and lab environments are essential. A collaborative mindset, commitment to student success, and enthusiasm for growing the biology program will set you apart.
