Support the financial integrity of the college as a Senior Accounting Specialist – Accounts Payable, playing a key role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing of vendor payments and financial transactions. This position manages a wide range of accounts payable functions within an integrated financial system, including reviewing purchase orders and invoices for accuracy, verifying coding and documentation, and ensuring compliance with institutional policies, tax regulations, and audit requirements.
This role processes payments through multiple channels, including ACH, direct deposit, e-checks, and weekly check runs, while maintaining detailed records and resolving vendor and departmental inquiries. Responsibilities include reconciling travel and purchasing documentation, supporting procurement and P-card processes, and assisting with the preparation of 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC tax forms. The position also helps maintain accurate vendor records, validates changes to vendor information, and supports system testing during software updates.
In addition to processing transactions, this role provides guidance and training to employees on accounts payable procedures and self-service financial tools, serving as a resource for policy clarification and problem resolution across departments.
Strong candidates bring deep knowledge of accounts payable processes and accounting principles, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work with accuracy in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Associates degree and three years of full-time equivalent related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
Starting pay range: $20.79 - $23.91
