Take the lead in preparing the next generation of professional drivers. As the Lead CDL Instructor at North Idaho College’s Workforce Training Center, you’ll deliver hands-on and classroom instruction for the Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) Class A program - guiding students from orientation through behind-the-wheel training and on to successful state testing. You’ll coordinate daily training activities, evaluate student progress, and ensure every graduate is confident, capable, and road-ready.

Beyond instruction, you’ll help shape and grow the program. You’ll develop schedules, training routes, and course materials; maintain equipment and coordinate repairs; and partner with local employers and community organizations to expand training opportunities. You’ll also support program operations - overseeing records, compliance with state and federal regulations, and mentoring part-time instructors to maintain a high-quality learning experience.

Minimum Qualifications
Three years full-time equivalent experience as a professional Class A truck driver, operating a Class A Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) within the last 10 years and demonstrated competency navigating basic computer programs and tools is required. Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of students and staff from multi-cultural backgrounds.

Required License and/or Certifications:
• Must possess and maintain a current, valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
• Must possess and maintain a current, valid medical card
• Must possess a clean driving record with no violations for previous three years

Starting pay range: $49,003 - $58,804
