Make a difference in the lives of young children every day. The NIC Children’s Center is seeking an Assistant Classroom Teacher who is passionate about early childhood development and creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment for infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children.
In this role, you will work closely with the Classroom Teacher to support children's growth and development through hands-on learning experiences, play-based activities, and individualized care. You will assist with planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, support children in meeting their daily needs, and help create a classroom environment where every child feels valued, supported, and encouraged to learn.
You will contribute to observing and documenting children's progress, assisting with assessments and goal setting, maintaining accurate records, and building positive relationships with families through daily communication. Collaboration is an important part of this role, as you will work alongside colleagues, volunteers, community partners, and student employees to provide high-quality early childhood education and care.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working with young children, communicates effectively, and approaches each day with patience, creativity, and a positive attitude. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to adapt to the changing needs of children and the classroom.
