As a Classroom Teacher at the Julien Bucher Center in Bonner's Ferry, you'll create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where young children develop the skills they need to thrive. Working as part of a dedicated team, you'll make a meaningful impact on children and families while supporting the Head Start mission of promoting school readiness and family success.
In this role, you'll plan and implement developmentally appropriate learning experiences using the program curriculum, complete child screenings and assessments, maintain accurate documentation, and support each child's individual growth. You'll build strong partnerships with families through regular communication, home visits, and parent-teacher conferences while collaborating with Family Advocates, supervisors, and specialists to ensure children receive the support they need. You'll also participate in professional development, mentor new staff and volunteers, and contribute to the daily success of the center.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Level I: Associates degree in Early Childhood Education, or Child Development, OR Associates degree in any other field of study AND: the equivalent of a major in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
Level II: Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education, or Child Development, OR Bachelors degree in any other field of study AND: the equivalent of a major in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
Experience:
•One year experience (256 hours minimum) as a staff or volunteer in a preschool classroom with at least 10 children.
Required License and/or Certifications:
•Register with Idaho STARS and participate in the professional development system.
•Meet all training and certification requirements for child care licensing and Head Start Program Performance Standards.
•Maintain current Infant/child & Adult CPR and First Aid.
•Pass an enhanced criminal background check including fingerprinting, as required by Head Start Program Performance Standards and Child Care Licensing requirements, prior to first day of work.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
•Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
•Working knowledge of computers and commonly used software for Internet and e-mail access, word processing and data collection and management.
•Positive approach to Early Childhood Development programs, health and social services.
•Demonstrate professional ethics and confidentiality.
•Represent the Head Start program in the community and with other professionals, positively and with professionalism.
Starting pay range: $20.63 - $22.00
Pay Grade: 78% FTE full-time
Work Site Location: Head Start - Boundary
Work Schedule: August through June
