Help advance North Idaho College's mission by securing resources that create opportunities for students, strengthen academic programs, and support the college's strategic priorities. As the Development and Grants Specialist, you'll play an integral role in identifying funding opportunities, developing competitive proposals, and supporting the successful management of grants and philanthropic resources that make a lasting impact across the institution.

In this role, you'll research public and private funding opportunities, prepare compelling grant proposals and supporting communications, and coordinate the submission and acceptance of external funding awards. You'll collaborate with faculty, staff, and community partners to identify funding needs, guide internal stakeholders through grant and fundraising processes, and support post-award activities, including compliance, reporting, documentation, and deadline tracking. You'll also help maintain grant and development records, update department websites, support employee training on grant policies and procedures, and recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency and institutional effectiveness.

We're looking for a collaborative professional with exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills who enjoys building relationships and managing multiple projects. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to balance administrative responsibilities with analytical thinking and problem-solving. Success in this role requires strong research skills, the ability to translate ideas into compelling proposals, and a commitment to accuracy, stewardship, and compliance.
