Job Summary
Assists the restaurant manager and assistant manager with all aspects of food production and service in retail venues. Individuals in this position have a hand in food production, sanitation, customer service, and cash handling. This position will work in any one of our retail venues including the The Landing, Starbucks, McAlister's Deli, Qdoba, Timbers, and University High School Store.

$15.83 per hour
Required Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Availability to work a variety of shifts and days off, up to 28 hours per week.
Preferred Qualifications
1. One year of experience in food service.
2. Knowledge of use and operation of cleaning materials, methods and equipment.
3. Ability to perform other related duties as assigned.
4. Ability to follow oral and written instructions and work independently.
5. Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed instructions.
6. Good communication skills.
7. Good customer service skills.
Work Hours
Hours of operation are 6:00 am – 11:00 pm, 7 days a week. Shifts will vary. 28 hours per week maximum.
Functional Expectations
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
1. Remain at a workstation for extended periods
2. Move about in various locations across campus as needed to complete day-to-day work.
3. Effectively communicate on a daily basis.

Special Instructions for Applicants
Extra Help employees may only work up to 28 hours per week for all University employment. Employees are only paid for hours worked and do not qualify for most benefits including health insurance and retirement, with Illinois State University. However, Extra Help employees are eligible to participate in the University’s supplemental retirement savings plans (403b). Applicable retirement information is provided at the time of hire. There is no guarantee that working as Extra Help will lead to or secure permanent employment. In addition, extra help employees may only work up to 900 hours total during their employment.

Applicable part-time work experience will be considered toward qualifying for this position; however, it will be converted to a full-time equivalency to determine combined length of experience.
