Job Summary
The Director of Procurement leads the strategic and operational functions of the procurement office for the University, ensuring the efficient, cost-effective, and compliant acquisition of goods and services. This role is pivotal in transforming procurement practices to align with University goals, modernizing systems, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and strategic sourcing.
The Director is responsible for developing and implementing procurement policies, driving process efficiencies, enhancing supplier relationships, and promoting sustainable and ethical purchasing practices. Serving as a key advisor to institutional leadership, the Director brings a forward-thinking, data-driven approach to procurement while ensuring adherence to all applicable regulations and internal policies.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$135,000 - $150,000
Required Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree
2. Seven to Ten years of purchasing experience, five years of which were in a supervisory capacity
Preferred Qualifications
1. Procurement experience in public higher education or a state agency.
2. Preferred certifications include: Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Certificate from the National Association of Purchasing Management (NAPM), Certified Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO), Certificate from the Universal Public Purchasing Certification Council (PBBCC)
Work Hours
General work hours are Monday- Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm, with some evening and weekend hours as the work load requires.
Functional Expectations
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
1. Remain at a workstation for extended periods
2. Move about in various locations on and off campus as needed to complete day-to-day work
3. Effectively communicate on a daily basis
