Job Summary
Body Image and Eating Disorders Outreach – 10 Hour Research Assistantship
1. Assist with coordination and implementation of IRB approved research involving the Body Project empirically supported eating disorder prevention and healthy body image programs:
• Complete CITI training for research with human subjects
• Complete Peer Facilitator training to be eligible to implement the Body Project (some evening and/or weekend work required)
• Coordinate participant sign up, scheduling, research credit participation, and implementation materials for participants and peer facilitators
• Assist with facilitating implementations of the Body Project (some evening and/or weekend work required)
• Coordinate with and provide oversight to undergraduate interns who are facilitating the Body Project
• Conduct pre-post test data collection for both programs
• Attended weekly team meetings and individual supervision meetings with coordinator
• Research, review, and discuss scholarly research articles related to diversity, equity, and inclusion as it relates to healthy body image and eating disorder prevention, to assist with improving sensitivity and inclusiveness of these programs
2. Assist with requested outreach and tabling events, related to body image and eating concerns, and/or general Student Counseling Services information
Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$755 monthly
Required Qualifications
1. Eligible for appointment as per the requirements in the Graduate Assistant Handbook which can be found at https://hr.illinoisstate.edu/downloads/GA_Handbook.pdf
2. Must be a degree seeking Graduate Student at Illinois State University in one of the following areas: Criminal Justice, Human Development & Family Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, CSPA, Social Work, or Communications.
Work Hours
Flexible, but primarily between the hours of 8:00am-4:30pm weekdays; some evenings and/or weekends required.
