About our facility

Uniting Salamander Bay is situated in beautifully landscaped gardens and moments from the sparking waters of Salamander Bay.  

Household Living – our innovative approach to care – empowers our residents to live their day, their way, just as you would in any family home.

There are 3 separate households, each with up to 20 residents, including a secure Memory Support Unit for people living with dementia. Your Uniting Homemaker ensures that the community is thriving and doing things that are meaningful and enjoyable.

What you’ll be doing in this role

As a Carer for Hotel services support, you’ll provide quality, timely and effective hotel services such as catering, cleaning, and laundry to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life. Uniting is seeking a Care Service Employees for kitchen support and cleaning duties  to work at Uniting Salamander Bay on a permanent part time or casual basis.

Your care work may include:

  • Providing support with household activities such as catering, cleaning and laundry making their dignity and independence a top priority
  • Paying attention to personal safety and risk management for you and our residents by using appropriate manual handling techniques and food safety
  • Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Who we’re looking for

  • Ideally, you’ll have a Certificate II in Hospitality or an equivalent qualification. If you’re not currently qualified and would like to be, then we can help you get there.
  • You’ll have previous experience in similar position (catering / kitchenhand, cleaning or laundry services) or any other community care
  • You’ll be adaptable, empathetic and resourceful, and be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
