Senior ER and IR Specialist - Full-Time Permanent role - Sydney CBD - Hybrid 3 days on site 2 days wfh

We’re looking for a dedicated Senior ER and IR Specialist to lead with expertise, ensuring best practice in employee relations (ER) and industrial relations (IR) advice, while navigating complex cases with care and precision.

Your role will involve:

  • Leadership & Mentoring: Lead and mentor a Senior HR/ER Advisor, ensuring the team delivers high-quality, timely case management and advisory services.
  • Specialist Advice: Provide clear, consistent advice to leaders, supervisors, and stakeholders in line with HR better practices, legislative guidelines, and Uniting policies.
  • Complex Case Management: Manage complex ER and IR cases end-to-end, ensuring a strategic and thoughtful approach to resolving matters.
  • Representation: Prepare and represent Uniting in the Fair Work Commission and other industrial tribunals.
  • Upskilling & Knowledge Sharing: Facilitate workshops, build knowledge banks, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our HR processes.
  • Strategic HR Solutions: Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement HR strategies that align with Uniting’s mission.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of specialist experience in ER/IR.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret legislation and policies.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a service-oriented mindset.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple activities and meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability to influence decisions and navigate complex organisational structures.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with First Nations peoples.
  • Previous experience in a Not-for-Profit setting.
