Internal Communications Specialist (Fixed-Term Contract – 6 months with possible extension)
Based in Sydney CBD, with 3-4 days onsite. Following the initial settling-in period, flexible work-from-home options will be available.

About the role:
You'll be a key player in delivering high-quality internal communications across various channels, including video content, newsletters, and our SharePoint intranet. You'll also support Uniting’s internal campaigns, promote employee webinars, and collaborate on strategic projects

Key responsibilities:

  • Write, edit, and publish clear, engaging content for our weekly digital newsletter, intranet, and Viva Engage.
  • Provide internal communications support for campaigns, events, and operational updates across different areas of Uniting.
  • Coordinate and promote employee webinars on topics like benefits and workplace culture.
  • Assist the Head of Organisational Communications with resources for key strategic projects.
  • Contribute to improving internal communication processes and services.

About You:

With at least 5 years of internal communications experience, you're an excellent communicator who knows how to simplify complex information. You’re organised, proactive, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities. Experience with SharePoint and Microsoft applications is a must and Canva experience for video editing is a plus. You also:

  • Have excellent communication and customer service skills, making it easy to get along with others.
  • Have a gift for working collaboratively with a team while being confident flying solo.
  • Are skilled at navigating complex organisations and managing competing priorities.
  • Excel at problem-solving, negotiation, mediation, and conflict resolution.
  • Have a strong understanding of Work Health and Safety principles and risk management practices.
