The Opportunity
This is a rare opportunity for a Senior Lawyer to step into a visible and influential role within a purpose-led organisation. Working closely with the Chief Legal & Risk Officer and Deputy General Counsel, you will contribute to the ongoing evolution of the legal function while supporting critical business outcomes nationally.
The role will act as a trusted adviser across the business, partnering with senior leaders to provide strategic legal guidance, manage risk and support key commercial and corporate initiatives across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on ASX obligations, corporate governance and support the company secretariat function
- Advising in relation to corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, divestments and capital initiatives
- Lead complex commercial contracting and negotiations
- Support our network in providing expert guidance on regulatory, compliance, privacy and consumer law matters
- Support the management of disputes, litigation and employment-related matters
- Proactively identify and mitigate legal and organisational risks
- Contribute to the evolution of the legal function, including process optimisation and strategic direction
- Engage at a senior level with regulators, external counsel and key stakeholders
About You
A Senior Lawyer who combines strong technical capability with commercial pragmatism and the ability to influence at executive level.
You will bring:
- 12+ years’ post qualification experience, ideally across both top-tier private practice and in-house environments
- Strong expertise in ASX-listed organisations, corporate governance, corporate and commercial law
- Experience operating within complex and regulated industries
- Demonstrated ability to provide commercially balanced advice in fast-paced environments
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to adapt communication style across a broad range of audiences
- Strong judgement, resilience and strategic thinking capability
- A collaborative approach and passion for enabling business outcomes while managing risk
- Hold a valid working with children check or willingness to obtain upon commencement.
