About the role

Reporting to the Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer, the Program Manager will play a critical role in leading the delivery of complex, enterprise-wide programs that support G8's strategic objectives.

This role is responsible for bringing together diverse stakeholders, leading cross-functional teams, and ensuring programs are delivered successfully across scope, budget, timelines, governance, and benefits realisation.

You will provide leadership across the full program lifecycle - from strategy development and planning through to execution, transition, and embedding sustainable outcomes into business-as-usual operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, governance, and delivery of strategic programs across the organisation.
• Develop and maintain program charters, management plans, reporting frameworks, and governance artefacts.
• Coordinate and influence cross-functional teams to achieve program objectives and deliver business outcomes.
• Facilitate executive, steering committee, and governance forums, providing clear reporting on progress, risks, issues, costs, and benefits.
• Drive effective risk, dependency, and change management practices across multiple workstreams.
• Support prioritisation and resource planning across interconnected projects and initiatives.
• Prepare high-quality reporting and decision-making materials for Executive Leadership and Board-level stakeholders.
• Coach and mentor leaders and project teams on best-practice program management, governance, and change leadership.
• Support the ongoing maturity and continuous improvement of G8's program management framework and delivery capability.
• Ensure successful transition of completed initiatives into operational teams, including benefits tracking and outcome measurement.

About You 

• Demonstrated experience leading large-scale programs within complex and fast-paced organisations.
• Strong program governance, planning, financial management, and reporting capabilities.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of an organisation.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving outcomes without direct reporting authority.
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to balance strategic objectives with operational delivery.
• A proactive and solutions-focused approach to managing risks, dependencies, and competing priorities.
• Experience preparing executive-level communications, governance packs, and strategic recommendations.
• Relevant qualifications in Program or Project Management (e.g. MSP, PgMP, PRINCE2, PMP, Agile or equivalent) will be highly regarded.
