As a Casual Disability Support Worker, you’ll support people to live more independently, achieve their goals and be active in their communities. You’ll work across our Supported Independent Living (SIL) and community programs, providing person-centred support based on each client’s individual needs, goals and preferences.

What you will do
As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide high-quality, safe and individualised support to clients across SIL and community-based programs.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Providing personalised support in line with individual support plans
- Supporting clients with daily living activities and developing independence
- Supporting clients to access community activities, appointments and social programs
- Assisting clients to achieve their personal goals and build confidence
- Providing support with personal care where required
- Supporting clients with varying support needs, including high-intensity needs where required
- Following Behaviour Support Plans and NDIS Practice Standards
- Promoting choice, dignity, independence and human rights in every interaction
- Maintaining accurate and timely client documentation
- Working collaboratively with clients, families, colleagues and other professionals
About you
We’re looking for people who are compassionate, reliable and committed to providing high-quality disability support.
You will ideally have:
- Certificate III in Individual Support or above
- A passion for supporting people with disability and safeguarding human rights
- Previous disability support experience, particularly in SIL or community settings
- Current or willingness to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check/ Yellow Card and Working With Children Check/ Blue Card
- Current First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain
- Current Driver’s Licence
- A reliable vehicle and willingness to transport clients when required (mileage reimbursed)
- Passport, Birth Certificate or Citizenship Certificate to validate Australian work rights
- Willingness to complete a National & International Police Check (paid by Afford)
- Ability to complete a Pre-Employment Medical/Functional Assessment (paid by Afford)
