  • While we work flexibly, there will be and expectation that employees at NSW Public Works will live within a reasonable distance to NSW Public Works office and to frequent the office a minimum of 3 days per week.  Some positions may require more than this average.
  • Salary from $97,027 to $107,059 plus super and leave loading

About the role

We are currently seeking a Heritage Officer to join the Heritage Environment and Planning (HEP) team within NSW Public Works.  HEP provides heritage consultancy services to State and Local Government clients and manages the Minister’s Stonework Program.

This role will be based in the Minister’s Stonework Program team and provide support and assistance to the HEP team to deliver a range of high-quality built heritage, advisory and strategic projects for government clients, as well as assist with business unit support services and broader business operations and service delivery.

About you

To be successful in this role, our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Experience in heritage building conservation practice
  • Willingness to learn and grow technical conservation skills
  • Project management and delivery skills for medium complexity projects in heritage conservation
  • Experience in document management/records management
  • Proficient CAD skills.
  • Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel around the state, sometimes staying overnight.
  • High level capability and experience in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other applications for general business and presentation matters.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with a range of stakeholders including clients, contractors and consultants.
  • Strong written skills with the ability to prepare professional, technical reports
