About the role

The Assistant Program Officer role provides high quality and responsive customer service in application assessment and post approval processing services to support the delivery of the Authority’s financial assistance programs

 

We are looking for an individual who can:

  • Review of complex applications and claim requests submitted by applicants and provide recommendations to inform decision making within required timeframes against eligibility criteria, and policies and responsible lending standards.
  • Identification and case management of suspected fraudulent application and claim requests, providing information and details to the Manager
  • Draft correspondence relating to titles and securities assessments, applications and other variations; and prepare information and reports for presentation to RAA and DPIRD
  • Apply responsible lending standards when assessing and recommending terms and conditions based on type and value of assistance and liaise with client financial institutes to gain consent for the relevant documents. 
  • Maintain and enter accurate data into the RAA databases to inform decision making
  • Provide accurate and timely information and advice to applicants and clients as to status, conditions, and/or variations on applications, and resolve issues including customer complaints

 

About You

To be successful in this role, our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Demonstrated experience in managing multiple tasks effectively within tight timeframes to meet customer expectations
  • Demonstrated experience in managing enquiries, complaints and reactions from distressed customers
  • Be open, honest, prepared to express your views and willing to accept and commit to change
  • Have demonstrated clear communication skills and be able to tailor communication to diverse audiences
  • Have a strong understanding of best practice lending concepts, policies and processes
  • Be able to assess and understand complex financial assessments in relation to loan applications
