About the Role
This professional development opportunity is available within the Business Operations Branch of Reform & Engagement within the Fisheries and Forestry Group. The Senior Project Officer Finance, is critical to the timely delivery of financial administration, having direct interface across the Fisheries & Forestry Group.
As a Senior Project Officer Finance, you’ll take charge of a wide range of financial and business operations, including:
- Managing end-to-end budgeting and capital project cycles, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget – especially across the Fisheries and Forestry Trust Companies.
- Preparing compelling financial reports and monthly commentaries that support strategic decision-making and drive performance.
- Championing financial governance, compliance, and quality to support transparency and public trust.
- Overseeing and implementing financial and business improvement initiatives, advising on best practices and supporting collaborative team success.
- Evaluating performance processes and develop smarter financial and asset monitoring systems that deliver real results across Fisheries and Forestry.
About You
You’re a natural problem-solver who thrives in fast-paced environments. We’re looking for someone with:
- Proven experience in financial and project management
- Confidence working in a tight-knit team where adaptability and initiative are key
- A knack for juggling competing priorities, responding to changing demands, and consistently delivering under pressure
