About the role
The Soil Conservation Service (SCS) are looking for project supervisors with a passion for improving the natural environment to develop and oversee the delivery of natural resource management works, construction, asset maintenance programs and consultancy work.
Working in a competitive commercial environment, these roles will work in a team environment to collectively deliver an annual operational revenue target in the range of $7-10M and will be undertaking on site delivery of a full range of small to large value projects.
To do this you will:
- Work in a supportive team environment setting to deliver major environmental and civil construction projects.
- Actively manage the day-to-day onsite operations of environmental construction and maintenance projects and programs. Responsibilities include, planning and scheduling contractor and supplier management, tracking of project progress and planning for new and adhoc works, and ensuring all aspects of worksite WHS, environmental and quality are implemented.
- Ensure projects are implemented within the framework of our accredited Integrated Management System (IMS).
- Professionally represent and promote the SCS though the liaison and engagement with public and private sector commercial clients and other stakeholders.
About you
Demonstrated project management experience (including the development of project plans, monitoring of project timelines, budgets and reporting requirements, and contract administration) combined with a practical working knowledge in the design and implementation of environmental management or civil earthworks.
Our ideal candidate will also have:
- Strong attention to detail combined with the ability to assess and prioritise tasks in a changing environment and be able to attend to customer requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as a high level of computer literacy including MS Office applications
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Construction, Environmental Management, Engineering, Natural Resource Management, and/or Project Management are ideal, however proven industry experience is equally as valuable, and ongoing training is provided
- A current Class C Drivers’ License
- A willingness to travel is required for this role – projects can be out of our home range and you will be required to stay away for work. We aim to balance this with homelife and wellbeing.
