The Resources Regulator (part of NSW Resources) have an exciting opportunity to join the team as an Assistant Project Officer.
Supporting a team of Opal Mining & Mineral Claims Compliance & Safety Inspectors, this newly created role is very admin and project support heavy and is aimed at taking the burden of administrative & support tasks from the team so they can focus on their infield activities.
It will be a very busy role with a high volume of work and will encompass a variety of tasks including:
- Being the first point of contact for incoming correspondence / communication from the public – written, email and verbal.
- Providing general admin & project support for the team.
- Undertaking desktop assessments of cancelled mineral claims prior to inspection.
The successful person will need to be able to work in a fast paced and ever-changing environment. They will also need to possess the ability to apply and interpret legislation, strong business support, project and coordination skills. They will also need the ability to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders from varying socio-economic and educational backgrounds.
The potential for travel to Lightning Ridge and other remote areas to assist the team with on the ground project work (if and as required) could also be on offer for the right person.
