About the Role
The Governance, Risk & Audit division of Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development are seeking an experienced Climate Change Risk Manager to join their team for up to 12 months.
This position is at the forefront of innovation, leading the integration of climate change risk management initiatives across the entire Department and cluster. As the subject matter expert, you will engage with climate science and sustainability experts, collaborating with NSW Treasury and other Departments to provide invaluable insights and support in managing climate risks. This role goes beyond traditional risk management, fostering a positive climate risk culture across the cluster and influencing decision-making at the highest levels.
About You
We are seeking a dynamic individual with:
- Proven track record in climate change risk management
- Deep understanding of climate science and sustainability
- Experience in leading strategic initiatives
- Adept at coordinating and collaborating across functional areas
- Crucial ability to engage with senior leaders and stakeholders
- Knack for building internal capabilities and knowledge in climate risk management
- Passionate about influencing positive change
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to translate complex climate issues into actionable strategies
Essential Requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent demonstrated experience, such as in climate change, environmental management, risk management, organisational change, engineering or other related field
