NSW Resources are seeking a strategic and results-driven Manager Projects to lead delivery of a program of regulatory and business improvements as part of the NSW Government’s response to the Independent Review into the Statutory Framework for Small-Scale Titles for Opal Mining in NSW.

About the Role

As Manager Projects, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading the planning, coordination, and delivery of Small-Scale Titles (SST) regulatory and business improvement projects in line with ministerial directives (including system changes and legislative reform implementation).
  • Driving a staged approach to implementation, including key stakeholder consultation.
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to communicate reform milestones and impacts.
  • Collaborating with subject matter experts to analyse, apply, and recommend improvements to SST administration and regulatory frameworks.
  • Managing a small, high-performing team to deliver across multiple project phases.
  • Reporting on progress, risks, and achievements to senior leadership.

What You’ll Bring

We are looking for someone who can deliver results right away with:

  • Extensive project management experience, ideally in government, regulatory, or legislative environments across the mining or natural resources sector.
  • Strong strategic thinking and the ability to translate complex reform objectives into actionable plans.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with a track record of building trust and driving collaboration across diverse groups.
  • Experience in legislative analysis and implementation, including interpreting directives and applying them in operational contexts.
  • Leadership capability, with experience managing teams and delivering outcomes under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills, with the ability to influence and inform at all levels.

Other things to know about the role:

  • Compliance with pre-employment probity screening is mandatory and a condition of engagement.
  • To be considered for the full contract duration, you must have successfully completed a comparative Clerk 11/12 process and either currently hold a Clerk 11/12 position or be listed on a valid Clerk 11/12 talent pool. If you do not meet this criteria, please still apply; however, the maximum contract duration available will be 12 months.
