About the role

NSW Public Works currently has an exciting vacancy for a Cadet Project Officer to join our Riverina Western Region team in Bathurst. Our work is primarily office based, client focused and will include construction site visits. We manage consultants, construction contractors and procurement matters for our clients. As a business we are transforming with the introduction of digital technology, we have highly developed professional development material available online and project management frameworks to support your growth and advancement.

In this role you will be assisting in delivering tasks and projects that demonstrate understanding and application of best practice project management or engineering principles to achieve client satisfaction, performance targets and provide excellent client service.  As a member of the NSW Public Works team, you will be participating in preparation of concept and detailed design for a range of infrastructure projects.

Our expectation is that your knowledge gained through your studies, and attention to detail will add significant value to our projects.

About you

We are looking for a motivated Cadet Project Officer who is willing to learn from senior staff and who thrives on working on multiple projects where your technical excellence will be developed.

It is a requirement of the role that you are currently completing a university course in engineering, construction management, surveying or other relevant area of study. You will also need to hold a current NSW Driver Licence with a willingness to drive to and work in remote locations which may include overnight stays.

Your current strengths will include good verbal and written communication skills.
