- Full time ongoing Senior Executive Band 1 role - TRP from $217,803 per annum (including superannuation)
- Willing to consider candidates across all NSW locations.
NSW Public Works is recruiting a Director Sustainability Delivery to drive and make possible tangible, cost-effective sustainability outcomes for our government agency and council clients.
The Director Sustainability Delivery is responsible for leading the development and implementation of coordinated and practical strategies and approaches to deliver those initiatives, projects or processes in addressing NSW Government targets across net zero, renewable energy, waste reduction, and circular economy goals. With a strong focus on partnerships, implementation, and long-term value, the role reinforces NSW Public Works’ position as a trusted delivery partner and responds to growing expectations from communities, local councils, and government stakeholders.
This is not a policy job. It’s about delivering results on the ground, about getting things moving and helping NSW Public Works’ government sector clients move from commitment to action to outcomes.
We’re looking for a dynamic leader with a proven track record of delivering real outcomes - someone who can turn policy into action, and the aspirational into reality.
The successful candidate will have actual experience in leading the delivery of major sustainability initiatives and projects that have shifted the dial in terms of emissions outputs, water usage, waste production, energy usage or even general construction procurement practice and thinking.
You’ll be someone who knows how to bridge the gap between strategy and implementation. You will be able to work with partners to design funding, implementation and delivery methodologies and plans that can deliver practical projects that bring with them real sustainability outcomes and operational costs savings for organisations.
We’re after someone who’s passionate in this field and has lived experience in leading the delivery of real sustainability initiatives in sometimes complex and quite different technical, funding and government sector environments. They should know how to engage, influence and persuade across many levels of government and industry.
