NSW Resources are looking for a Project Officer to join their Legacy Mines Program team.

About the Legacy Mines Program:

The Legacy Mines Program delivers and manages complex works projects to reduce risks from legacy mine sites.  The program has a focus on public safety and improving the environment through remediation of historic and abandoned mines.

Our focus is on progressive remediation of these sites, considering:

  • Public safety risk
  • Environmental risks
  • End use of the land impacted by the mine
  • Cost effectiveness of remediation works, and
  • Benefit of expenditure to the people of NSW.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a skilled coordinator to join our team and support achievement of the program objectives.  You will work closely with the Program Manager and a team of very capable project leads, and bring risk assessment, financial reporting and legislative compliance skills and experience to confidently support the team.

We are keen to welcome a new go-to person to our team, someone who can:

  • Support – we need someone who can ensure consistency in legacy mine risk assessments to foster long-term program success and roll up their sleeves and get stuck in to help work through pressure points and squeezes.
  • Juggle – someone who can happily and confidently work across a range of different tasks, including financial reporting, shifting priorities as needed.
  • Investigate – someone who is highly attentive to detail, who ensures legislative compliance and who can work with grit and determination to trace through issues to find a root cause.

Alternatively, if you do not meet the requirement for an ongoing appointment, you may only be considered for a temporary appointment of up to 12 months.
