- Location: Willing to consider candidates across all NSW locations. Preference will be given to candidates based regionally, with a focus on Queanbeyan, Armidale, Dubbo and Coffs Harbour
- Salary: $149,739.00 to $173,174.00 pa + 12% Superannuation
As Manager, Low Emissions Agriculture, you’ll lead a research and development team focused on driving practical solutions to reduce emissions across the agriculture sector. You’ll support landholders in adopting low-emissions practices and provide evidence-based policy advice to government on emissions reduction and renewable energy opportunities in agriculture.
You’ll play a key role in delivering strategic programs that align with the NSW Government’s Net Zero agenda, supporting the sector to adapt and thrive in a changing climate.
What You’ll be doing:
- Build strategic partnerships with industry and stakeholders to support low-emissions agriculture technologies, practices, and policies.
- Lead the design, co-investment, and delivery of R&D and adoption projects focused on low-emissions and renewable energy solutions in agriculture.
- Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships across industry, government, RDCs, and within NSW DPI.
- Represent NSW DPI in state and national forums to advance government positions on low-emissions and renewable agriculture.
- Provide expert technical and policy advice on emissions, sequestration, and renewable energy issues in agriculture.
- Drive strategic and operational planning, including financial, WHS, project, and people management to meet organisational goals.
- Evaluate the impact and effectiveness of research and adoption programs and projects.
We’re looking for someone who has
- Proven experience leading, mentoring and supervising professional and technical staff
- Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Sound understanding of climate change and primary industries.
Essential requirements
- Degree or post-graduate qualifications in climate, agriculture or science-based disciplines
- Current driver’s license
- Compliance with pre-employment probity screening is mandatory and a condition of engagement.
