About the Role

The Finance Officer prepares management reports, budgets, forecasts and analytical support services with a range of stakeholders and supports the use of critical information systems and financial data to support business unit financial and business performance in line with State-wide goals and Government objectives. The role also supports day to day finance by analysing and providing financial information to facilitate the development of business plans, funding and project submissions, savings strategies and financial program structures to enhance financial performance.

 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have experience and knowledge of financial operations, accounting and reporting practices in a large organisation and previous experience using Business intelligence tools, and the ability to interrogate and analyse big data sets. Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience using financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting, including maintaining models to monitor business performance.
  • Demonstrated capability building strong stakeholder relationships and provide recommendations that improve reporting processes and support business outcomes.
  • Experience supporting the development of annual budgets aligned with government objectives and funding priorities.
  • Skills in providing financial analysis and preparing accurate information in line with public sector standards, including reports and briefs on complex issues.
  • Experience with financial systems to generate reports and ensure accurate and timely month-end reporting.
  • Experience in processing transactions, identifying discrepancies, and working with managers to resolve issues.
  • Demonstrated capability in managing end-of-month and end-of-year processes, and contributing to planning, budgeting, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Skills in collaborating across teams to build financial literacy and support informed decision-making on financial and program matters.
