Are you ready to lead strategic policy development in one of NSW’s most dynamic sectors?
NSW Resources is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to take on the role of Manager, Policy. This position leads a small, high-performing team focused on shaping mining policy, including Work Health and Safety policy for the Mining industry.
As Manager, Policy, you’ll be:
- Leading the development of innovative policy solutions and regulatory reforms.
- Managing strategic projects including Cabinet submissions and legislative drafting.
- Identifying emerging trends and issues in the mining sector and responding with agility.
- Building strong relationships across NSW Resources, industry, and government stakeholders.
- Providing expert advice that influences decision-making at the highest levels.
- Managing secretariat functions for a number of boards and committees.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Sound judgement, creativity and innovation in addressing complex policy challenges.
- Strong knowledge of government processes, including Cabinet and legislative frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience in policy development, implementation and review.
- Exceptional research, analytical and conceptual skills.
- High-level written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare well-structured reports, briefings and policy documents.
- Proven stakeholder engagement and negotiation capabilities across government and industry.
- Ability to manage and develop people, set clear expectations, and foster team performance.
- Advanced capabilities in project management, problem solving, and delivering results under pressure.
