About the Role

The Senior Biosecurity Officer eID will be working within the Central West LLS region engaging with sheep and goat producers, industry partners and groups, to enable customers and stakeholders to understand their biosecurity and National Livestock Identification System (NLIS) legislated requirements, and the business and production opportunities the implementation of Sheep and Goat eIDs bring to NSW and Australia. You will be working alongside the Sustainable Agriculture and Animal Biosecurity & Welfare teams, in the saleyards and around the Central West LLS region offering frontline advisory and extension services.

We are looking for an individual who can:

  • Provide timely, effective and high-quality frontline advisory and extension services to rural landholders and stakeholders, partners and industry groups
  • Manage the delivery of biosecurity education programs and advisory services to enable stakeholders to implement strategies and plans to ensure biosecurity risks are mitigated at the local level
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the legislative and regulatory requirements related to Sheep & Goat eID to achieve intended outcomes, including compliance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures, and state, region and local plans
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of plans and strategies to enhance customer and stakeholder understanding of the animal and plant biosecurity functions of the LLS
  • Coordinate and lead operational projects, including the delivery of Sheep & Goat eID educational events and activities.

Essentials for this role

  • Current NSW Class C Driver Licence and the ability and willingness to travel
