About You
To be successful in this role you must have a passion for sustainable agriculture, strengths in project management, stakeholder engagement, and demonstrated experience providing extension and advisory services to farmers and land managers preferably around sustainability.
You should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, collaborating effectively with agricultural stakeholders, and providing inputs to strategy and planning processes.
What you need for the role:
A degree in agricultural science, environmental management, natural resource management, biosecurity and emergency management, and/or an equivalent level of industry knowledge and experience
Strong communication skills to engage with landholders and collaborate with key industries to build partnerships
Organisational skills to plan and deliver major field days/meetings or other initiatives across the region
An understanding of the needs and issues facing landholders and stakeholders in adapting to climate variability, meeting market demands and in achieving sustainable agricultural outcomes.
Have a Current NSW Class C Driver and be willing to undertake regular travel within the Central West LLS region.
About the Role
The Project Officer will support delivery of North Coast Local Land Services’ Climate Smart Agriculture Project to including delivery of extension services needed to improve farmers’ knowledge and uptake of climate-smart practices and understanding of carbon and biodiversity markets to inform critical investment decisions for their future sustainability.
