About the role

NSW Public Works (NSW PW) is part of the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development and supports local and state government agencies to deliver critical infrastructure initiatives by providing expert advisory, planning, design, delivery and support services.

This entry level Project Manager role will form part of our North Coast Region team. The role contributes as part of a multi-disciplinary team by assisting senior Project Managers with the planning, advisory and delivery of infrastructure projects across NSW.

In this role you may be working on projects across regional NSW, for example:

  • Water and wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Mechanical and electrical projects in government facilities
  • Refurbishment projects of government-owned housing
  • Construction and refurbishment of cultural and tourism facilities
  • Bridge and road projects

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have experience and knowledge of project management concepts, construction and design experience and the capability to foster business relationships. To be considered for this role, you will meet the following essential requirements which can be found in the role description, as well as the following:

  • Appropriate trade, post-trade or tertiary qualifications in civil engineering, architecture, or construction management, OR relevant field experience which includes 1-2 years practical experience in design or construction
  • A high degree of enthusiasm and drive, with a strong desire to assist in delivering positive outcomes as part of a team
  • A practical mindset with a hands-on approach to getting things done
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, Project)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a diverse and multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Sound reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • Current NSW Driver Licence with flexibility and willingness to travel to NSW regional towns, which may include overnight stays.
