About the Role
As the Senior Fisheries Manager Coastal Systems, you’ll manage the conservation of aquatic ecosystems and natural resources through the application of policies and regulations. You will draft permits, provide expert advice, and ensure compliance with legislation. Additionally, you’ll build stakeholder relationships, brief senior officials, and act as a key source of advice on issues and contemporary scientific knowledge.
About You
As our ideal candidate, you will have:
- Extensive experience applying environmental legislation to manage permits, licences, and compliance, with a focus on aquatic biodiversity and threatened species
- Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary issues affecting aquatic habitats and species, including the Marine Estate Management Strategy
- Proven ability to lead and negotiate with diverse stakeholders and prepare high-quality reports for senior officials
- Experience in delivering regulatory and conservation programs and implementing strategic policy
- Ability and willingness to travel for work purposes.
