Hunter Local Land Services is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Land Services Officer to lead the community engagement component of the Hunter Catchment Contributions (HCC) Program. This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible difference in our landscapes, waterways, and communities.
In this role, you will:
- Work as part of a cross functional area program team to lead planning, delivery, and evaluation of engagement activities and events, including the flagship Hunter River Forum.
- Build strong partnerships with landholders, industry, government, and community groups to deliver shared outcomes.
- Manage one direct report, providing leadership, direction, and professional development to support high performance.
- Oversee project budgets, timelines, and governance to ensure quality outcomes.
- Represent LLS as a trusted leader in community engagement and catchment management.
About you
You’re a skilled communicator and relationship-builder who thrives on connecting people with ideas and action. You bring:
- Proven experience in community engagement, event coordination, marketing and stakeholder management.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop staff and colleagues and ensure cross team collaboration.
- Excellent project management skills and the ability to deliver results on time and within budget.
- Knowledge of natural resource management, agriculture, or environmental programs and LLS programs and functions.
Essential requirements
- A degree in agricultural, environmental, natural resource management, biosecurity, emergency management or related discipline, or equivalent industry knowledge and experience.
- Current NSW Driver Licence and capacity to travel.
