About the Role
The Regional Digital Connectivity team of Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development is looking for multiple Senior Project Officers. This role manages all aspects of project management within a portfolio of complex telecommunications construction projects, ensuring successful outcomes and supporting the achievement of organisational objectives. Responsibilities include managing procurements, and the rollout and delivery of a range of large-scale initiatives. The Senior Project Officer provides expert technical advice and recommendations to senior management to support decision making on challenging telecommunications projects impacted by a dynamic industry.

About You
Our ideal candidate will have exposure to and/or experience in the telecommunications sector with a specific focus on delivering telecommunications infrastructure projects.

As our ideal candidate, you will have: 

  • Experience in managing all aspects of telecommunications project planning, development, and implementation, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and quality outcomes following agency project management methodologies.
  • Demonstrated capability in establishing and maintaining stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation, and issue management to ensure project deliverables are met.
  • Skills in monitoring and evaluating project implementation, including risk management, benefits realisation, and quality measures, to ensure project success.
  • Exposure to conducting research and analysis to inform program design, development, and enhancement.
  • Experience in providing advice and support to stakeholders on emerging project issues, ensuring alignment with project objectives, timelines, and budgets.
  • Demonstrated capability in collaborating with teams and external providers to ensure governance, quality, and legal compliance throughout project delivery.
  • Experience in preparing, reviewing, and evaluating procurement and grant documentation, ensuring compliance with procurement rules and grant frameworks for infrastructure projects.
