About the Role
Enabling Services – Finance, Advisory, Performance and Procurement branch is seeking a Procurement Officer to join them on a temporary basis. You will play a key role in supporting the department’s procurement functions and ensuring compliance with NSW Government procurement policies, guidelines, and legislative requirements. This role provides technical advice, governance, and administrative support for a wide range of procurement activities including electronic procurement, tendering, and contract management.
You will:
- Respond to procurement queries via email and Microsoft Teams.
- Ensure tender documentation is accurate in collaboration with buyers.
- Manage tender publications, openings, and updates on buy.nsw.
- Maintain low-value procurement records in CAPS.
- Provide administrative support to the procurement team.
- Ensure compliance with procurement legislation and policies.
- Liaise with key government bodies to support policy development.
- Deliver strategic procurement support across all process areas.
- Assist in developing and maintaining procurement procedures.
About You
You are a motivated and detail-oriented procurement professional who is passionate about driving value through compliant and effective procurement practices. You possess a strong understanding of government procurement frameworks and have experience providing both strategic and operational procurement support.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- A thorough understanding of NSW Government procurement legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Experience working in a complex procurement environment with a focus on compliance and governance.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to respond clearly and promptly to procurement queries.
- Confidence using electronic procurement systems (e.g., buy.nsw, CAPS, ERP systems).
- Experience in tender management, including documentation, publishing, and evaluation processes.
- The ability to build and manage effective relationships with stakeholders and vendors.
- A solid grasp of probity, contract execution requirements, and GIPA considerations.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills to support team operations and procurement reporting.
