  • Offering a salary range from $ 139,787.00 to $ 161,663.00 p.a. + superannuation

The NSW Department of Primary Industries (NSW DPI) supports the development of profitable primary industries that create a more prosperous NSW and contributes to a better environment through the sustainable use of natural resources. 

Within NSW DPI, the Rural Assistance Authority (RAA) is part of the DPI Infrastructure Investment & Business Development Branch and works to deliver programs that provide rural support and enhance connections with our communities. The RAA has decades of experience and expertise in the assessment and administration of financial assistance schemes to primary producers and small business operators in NSW on behalf of both the NSW and Australian Governments.

About the role

The role leads a team that delivers high-quality customer service through the efficient management of the Authority’s loan, and assistance funding programs. 

As Manager Customer and Programs, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Lead and manage the delivery of application and approval processes of the program portfolio to ensure that it is delivered according to peer standards, guidelines and policies
  • Manage the loan approval process and associated risks, to align with current knowledge of current prudent lending terms and conditions which vary according to the type of loan, repayment schedules and required securities
  • Implement effective workload management practices throughout the program year, particularly during periods of surge demand such as natural disasters
  • Provide advice to on program deliverables when requested.
  • Foster and develop strategic relationships through effective communication, negotiation and issues management to support program delivery both within and outside of RAA.
  • Contributes to business improvement changes consistent with business metrics
  • Lead the development and ongoing management of the team business plans and budget and effectively lead and manage the team, including managing performance, and motivating and developing staff
  • Implement and embed best practice in operational processes to support efficient program delivery, meet governance and risk frameworks, and develop appropriate performance indicators.
