We are looking for someone to be responsible for co-ordinating the testing function for the systems development unit, including system and integration testing, co-ordinating User Acceptance Testing, advising on process improvement aiding to reduce development defects and assessing potential risks with implementation of new systems.

The NSW Department of Primary Industries (NSW DPI) supports the development of profitable primary industries that create a more prosperous NSW and contributes to a better environment through the sustainable use of natural resources.
Within NSW DPI, the Biosecurity & Food Safety Division is responsible for effective management and risk minimisation of biosecurity threats to NSW as well as the through-chain regulation of food safety. It delivers a risk-based approach to policy and compliance and provides regional engagement and coordination in response to emergency incidents and natural disasters impacting primary industries and the food sector.
Your responsibility will revolve around testing of systems under development, co-ordinating User Acceptance Testing, looking at process improvements and providing advice around the reduction of development defects. In addition to this you will also be looking at the risks associated with the implementation of new systems and providing assurance to the business that all risks are accurately quantified and addressed.
The Key Accountabilities in this role involve developing testing strategies to reduce risk, developing testing scripts whilst at the same time undertaking and coordinating end-to-end testing, integration tests and user acceptance testing. Ensuring accurate and detailed test reports are prepared and submitted including escalation and resolution of issues raised during the different processes. Ultimately improving software quality through the development of comprehensive test plans based on close collaboration with affected business units.
With this role you will find that the Key Challenges are the coordination of testing activities across a broad range of systems and activities in desktop, mobile and web-based environments. All this whilst working in a fast paced, high-volume environment which requires high level organisational skills and excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
